Anyone for an elastic bed?

Photo taken with my Nokia N82 cell phone.

I TOOK a picture of this sign on our street here in Brasilia last week when I was walking my dog Nog-Nog. It literally says, in Portuguese, "For Rent: an Elastic Bed".

I thought that was strange. Since when did people rent out beds, especially rubber ones?

When I got home I asked my mother about the sign.

"I haven't seen it. That's strange," said my mom.

"But what is an elastic bed?" I asked.

"It's that thing that you jump up and down on," she said while moving her hand up and down. "I forget what it's called."

Stumped I thought for a few seconds about what sort of bed that was. And then it hit me:

"Oh, you mean a trampoline?" I said.

"Yes, exactly," she replied.

So there you have it. Trampolines in Brazil are called elastic beds. Who knew?

Raindrops on the leaves of a roadside plant that Nogy loves peeing on!
