Human Rights in Saudi Arabia: Interview with Christophe Wilcke

I RECORDED an interview with Human Rights Watch’s Saudi Arabia researcher Christophe Wilcke on Dec. 10, 2006, in Jeddah. He spoke about how he and his team were allowed to visit the Al-Haier jail in Riyadh only once; how they were unexpectedly taken to a special detention facility for Guantanamo detainees returned to the Kingdom; how they don’t usually publicly lobby Arab countries on gay issues, and how the Saudi judicial system needs to be reformed.
