Why do people hate Jennifer Aniston?

I WAS having dinner with the friend of a colleague who was visiting from Los Angeles the other night, and I was surprised to hear that he had gone to high school with the Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston in New York.

“I’m going to attend my high school reunion when I get back to the US,” he told me.

And it’s not any high school that they both attended, but the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts in Manhattan, the same one immortalized in the film Fame and the spin-off television series.

“What was she like?” I asked, curious to hear any funny anecdote about Aniston.

“She was rather mean and never spoke to me unless she wanted to copy my homework,” he alleged.

The former star of the hit sitcom Friends, Aniston is currently dating the singer John Mayer. Things seem to be pretty serious as she just recently introduced him to her best friend and Friends co-star Courtney Cox, and the couple are rumored to be getting matching tattoos.

There is a veritable industry out there of blogs that follow every single move she makes, and there is also a lot of negative comments about her and her relationships. The poor girl needs a break in my book. I’ve always liked her and think people are just being jealous with their snide remarks.

And yes, Aniston’s dad is of Greek origins and he did play Victor Kiriakis on the daytime soap Days of Our Lives, and her godfather was Telly Savalas of Kojak fame. Cool.
